NAVIGATION, WITHOUT THE MAP
Experimenting with minimal interfaces.

01
THE PROBLEM
Riders can't safely look at a phone map on a bike, many smartwatches can't show turn-by-turn directions, and dedicated bike navigators cost too much.
02
THE IDEA
A hybrid of software and a device, working name project: row. The software puts turn-by-turn guidance on the smartwatch a rider already owns; the device will be an affordable navigation display built for bikes.
03
EXECUTION
The software is a phone app paired with the rider's smartwatch. It takes the route from Google Maps, sends each turn to the watch, and shows live ride stats such as speed, distance and ride time.
Technologies Used
Wearable UIGoogle MapsHardware Integration

OUTCOME
I started building the software in August 2026 and ran a first round of testing that month. Research on the dedicated device starts in October 2026.
